"Neighbourhood Action Panels are a real way for your community issues to be tackled effectively"

Ordinary people from your community who not only support their local community but also take on an active role in making their neighbourhood a better, safer place to live and work.

Why do we need a NAP?

The local authorities including Essex Police provide a community focused service and have done so for some time now. However they all recognise that to provide a service that fits to the community being served they must be able to focus on the issues that matter to the people of that neighbourhood. It is also recognised that all communities are different and each will have it's own ideas as to what matters to them. The NAP is a method for the police and other agencies to be able to identify and respond to what is important to you.

NAP panel members are local people who see on a daily basis the problems that we all face, they understand the neighbourhood being served and they are not politically influenced, for that reason priorities highlighted are real problems effecting real people.

The NAP's are the communities way of helping the local authorities to help them when, where and how it matters.
